Unreal Engine (Animation+Tools)


Unreal Engine is the perfect medium for visualizing convincing and fluid animation for your characters. From cartoony to life-like, animation breathes life into your project!

For film, TV, animation, games, themed attraction fly-throughs and other projects, knowing how to use the animation tools in Unreal Engine gives you the ability to create high-end previs, animatics, cinematics and other real time animation sequences for your Unreal project.

You will learn Tools that are required for animation in Unreal Engine, starting off with understanding simple Static Mesh and camera animation. Following that will be Skeletal Mesh workflows, and proceeding through the uses of the Control Rig. The Control Rig is a scriptable node-based rigging system designed to provide artists with tools to create flexible, dynamic, and procedural rigs with animator-friendly interfaces.

You will also learn IK and FK ops, uses of mocap, importing animations and retargeting of rigs from other programs (such as Mixamo), MetaHuman animation, and more. There will also be exploration of Animation Blueprints and Take Recorder, Animation Montages, IK Retargeting, Additive Animation / Mocap Layering and Curve Editor, Sequencer - CineCamera Tools and Techniques, and additional animation tools and blueprint work for continuing your animation skills in Unreal Engine 5.

Prerequisite: Unreal 101 class or an equivalent, basic knowledge of Unreal Engine.
