Substance Painter

Substance Painter 2

In this Substance Painter workshop, you'll gain essential knowledge of the software and generate professional level textures and materials for use in PBR workflows for film and animation.

We will cover a wide range of topics from the most basic aspects of the user interface to creating complex, multi-layered materials for use in professional environments. By the end of the workshop, you will be able to hit the ground running to create believable materials and textures for complex props and characters.

You will learn to use and create various textures to be used in other engines with both PBR and non-PBR. Substance Painter is an amazing application that provides a truly innovative and intuitive painting experience, in that it allows you to paint and preview all of your maps at the same time.

Prerequisite: A basic understanding of UVW mapping and applying textures to an unwrapped model in a 3D package (Maya, Max, Blender, etc.) or a real-time viewer (Marmoset, Unity, Unreal Engine, etc.)
