Digital painting is an art form used for expressing stylized artwork using the computer as your easel! It is an introductory class that provides students with approachable and creative techniques for creating digital paintings.
This class covers how to translate traditional painting techniques into digital environments without being limited by any particular software. Students will learn the foundation principles in line art, value and color studies, and composition theories. The class will also teach how to create digital paintings that feel traditional and organic through the use of digital brushes, layering and effects.
This course helps students develop digital painting skills step-by-step from concept sketches, value studies, and eventually create full-color paintings.
Alina Chau is an award-winning illustrator and storyteller.
Suggested software: Photoshop, ProCreate (if using an iPad)
Prerequisite: Basic working knowledge of programs such as Photoshop, Procreate, etc.
Class Length: 30 hours
