Digital Design & Illus

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN ONLINE CLASS

Digital painting is an art form used for expressing stylized artwork using the computer as your easel! It is an introductory class that provides students with approachable and creative techniques for creating digital paintings.

This class covers how to translate traditional painting techniques into digital environments without being limited by any particular software. Students will learn the foundation principles in line art, value and color studies, and composition theories. The class will also teach how to create digital paintings that feel traditional and organic through understanding the nature of digital brushes, layering and effects.

This course helps students develop digital painting skills step-by-step from concept sketches, value studies, and eventually create full-color paintings. Upon completing the class, students will complete a full-color digital painting project and gain a general understanding of the production process for creating digital paintings.
